There's a even better saying in German, coined by Dieter Nuhr "Wenn man keine Ahnung hat... einfach mal die Fresse halten." (If you don't have a clue, just STFU for once.) Linus is a big mouth. There are many people just a capable as him - if not more - who have normal manners without being "politically correct". Linus just didn't understand MAP_COPY at that time and had to take back much of his bashing.
