Advance Patrol is one of the bands that were used in the recent Piratebay prosecution to claim how filesharing hurts artists by losing a lot of money and to show how copyrighted material can be found on the Piratebay tracker. Interestingly it turned out that Advance Patrol was abused by their label and the music industry. Referring to a statement by one of the band members that wasn't really in the interest of the band

- We never asked to be plaintiffs in this case, Gonza from Advance Patrol explains, they used us as scapegoats in a fight in which we don’t wish to participate. We refuse to be used in a war against our fans.

- You cannot legislate away file sharing, Gonza says. Those who fileshares our music are also those who appreciate it the most. They are my friends, and friendship is something to be valued highly. That’s why we’re giving away El Futuro to the internet, to our friends.

As a consequence of this and as an action of fighting back they will release their new album for free on Piratebay on sunday.

UPDATE: OMGOMGOMG piratebay founders found guilty, I can't believe this.

While searching some torrent on piratebay I noticed a little legal link at the bottom of the site. This is a listing of legal threats
mails against the pirate bay from several lawyers because of "violating various copyrights". The site also lists replies by the piratebay people.

Instead of simply recommending that you sodomize yourself with a
