Privoxy && tor

It seems that there is quite a big hype around tor the onion router project and the privoxy a web proxy.

So I installed it too :-) I haven't tested more than http anonymizing but it seems that the performance sucks in a way.
Maybe my configuration. Is there a way to tune the performance of privoxy in combination with tor a little bit?
