I just released version 1 of the
ii irc client.
For those who don't know it,
ii is a minimalistic
FIFO and filesystem based irc client which enables a file system hierarchy of your
IRC session. You can interact with it with your normal shell tools (echo, tail, cat,...) and it consists of less than 500 lines of code which was one of the release goals.
See a more complete description on
http://www.suckless.org/wiki/tools/irc/irc_it.
There are not many changes since my
first announcement of it apart from /m is obsolete, use /j nickname [msg] to start a query, there is a script to recognize incoming queries in the tarball and last but not least it seems to work completly
phpii is also still alive (thanks yogan).
