I'm not convinced. The arguments usually go that the privacy of the individual has to be curbed for the security of the group?
The cartoon drastically illustrates how privacy is eroded with the excuse of increased "security", while only a prison for the general population is built.

Martin, no idea why you linked to this page. Of course security and privacy are not always opponents but at least in the countries that are under more "security" pressure it is so whats the point?
I can hear "the worker that is pulling the siding off the house saying to the couple inside "What were you expecting, a rose garden"? But the worker to his right sawing the corner post is the kicker ....
