This is what a woman did with a baby parrot referring to some article.

She first stole it and then cut the leg off to remove the identity tag.
This somehow reminds me on the story in 2005 where a Mercedes owner lost his finger because the thiefs wanted to use it to get into his car secured with a biometric lock
