Milestone for ATI fglrx radeon driver

Wow, ATI finally released a new graphic driver which has initial support for Suspend and Resume. That's great news, that is one of the reason alot of people haven't used it in the past on their notbooks (ok another is cause its proprietary).

I tested the new 8.19.10 driver version and yes, suspend to RAM and suspend to disk are working.

Hm, I was quite happy about those news and gave it a try... First thing was to check the driver's ability to handle switching from X to consoles and back.

With a radeonfb-driven framebuffer-console, everything becomes corrupted, locking up when quitting X. Without any framebuffer, switching back to X corrupts X. Back to r300-CVS, waiting for render acceleration and EXA for my FireGL T2. Missing PowerStates from fglrx.

So recent ATI cards and Linux still's a PITA for me - you still can't have everything working.
