TU my first day

Today I had my first day at university. I listened some nice n00b

talks to know where I can find everything on the campus.
We created small groups to learn together etc. All in one it is very nice. What makes me nervous is the burocratic part. At which time choose which lesson etc. Its a bunch of new stuff to learn.

What wondered me is that most of the students use windows and have no real clue about computers (first impressions).
But some of them seem to be really good.
Some of them not even have got a computer.
And the best thing is that I can't join my working group to share the tutorials with them and to learn because the websites
are totally overloaded.

UPDATE: There are two students who study computer science since 40 semesters now

Sorry for the pessimism. The bureaucracy will get worse when you try to subscribe for exams (every faculty and sometimes even within them they have different subscription methods). Also, it's interesting that you made the "windows" observation already on your first day, I though it would take longer. But besides that, university is not about learning a subject but learning how to learn, so you're already fully within that... welcome!

Ah, can you please mail me your CS login so I can you add you to my xfriends(1) list of the better guys?

i work in oxford, some of the colleges here are our clients, and what i gather is that computer science (com-sci) students seem to have less clue when it comes to computing than chemists

uh... little hint if you do not really like the 'general support' side of it: dont let people know how good you actually are, until there is somebody else they run to for help, otherwise your time at uni could become a pure nightmare, since everybody will just run up to you for some help... and very often these simple users can be a real pain

what are you studying by the way, just curious.
