Usenet is dead

Today I got a mail by the FU-Berlin and the told me that news.individual.de/net will be not for free
in the future. I haven't found any servers for free yet.
In my opinion that is the fist step to the death of the usenet.
All information should be free accessible.
Shame on the FU-Berlin.
